Microsoft has sunk its razor-sharp fangs into everybody’s favorite Internet-talking-thing, Skype. It cost the company $8.5 billion, which is silly money, and the company aims to bring the service to Xbox Live.
“Skype will support Microsoft devices like Xbox and Kinect, Windows Phone and a wide array of Windows devices, and Microsoft will connect Skype users with Lync, Outlook, Xbox Live and other communities,” boasts the company. “Microsoft will continue to invest in and support Skype clients on non-Microsoft platforms.”
