Powerful music-making software

Recommended Videos

I know that we have a fair number of musicians out there in Destructoid Land, so I wanted to share with you this slick piece of music software for the 3DS that I just started checking out. For those not musically inclined, I may lose you in the next paragraph.

Rhythm Core Alpha 2 is basically a music sequencer for your 3DS, complete with a solo synth and a drum machine. This is packed with the works, including drum pads, piano rolls, mixers, envelope editing, and even MIDI export to SD card. What’s cool is that it’s performance oriented, with a solo synth sporting touch grids, made to be used live.

Though I’ll probably never use the live side of this software, I can already see the appeal for tracking songs on-the-go. This app holds its own against some of the better iOS music applications out there.

Rhythm Core Alpha 2 should cost more than it does. It’s only $9.99 on the eShop, available now (in America, Europe coming soon). Even if you were just mildly curious you could buy it and enjoy the demo songs from chiptune artists, and then poke around after being inspired.

If you get this and make something good with it, let me know!
